Introducing Experimental & Beta Mscape software

15th October 2009: Version 2.6 Released

Here at HP Labs we are constantly tinkering away with new an exciting features for the mscape platform, such as new ways of sensing the real world around you, different networking technologies, new media capabilities and other interesting features you can include in your mediascapes. We'd love to be able to just put these into the official mscape release, but a few of these features are not quite ready for the limelight yet. For example, some of the new sensors require hardware that is not easily accessible, and others may be undocumented or just not be up to the quality and stability standards our users may expect.

In order to make some of these fun new technologies available to people who don't mind working around these issues, we've decided to make a cutting-edge Experimental version of mscape available to interested people. This version has all of the features of the official release (currently 2.6) but adds new experimental functionality.
